Yoda or not, The Doctor is in... again!

Picardo is the sole Star Trek legacy performer featured among the cast of Starfleet Academy actors, along with a handful of Star Trek: Discovery players like Tig Notaro. Unfortunately, at least it hasn’t been announced yet, impact characters like Discovery’s Michael Burnham are sadly missing in action: She certainly hasn't shown up in any of the marketing materials for the upcoming streaming show.
For me, though, it’s wonderful to see that The Doctor will be lending his expertise to another generation of Star Trek characters. I’m also hoping that the core-five cadets the upcoming series will center around, Captain/Chancellor Nahla Ake, the intriguing Betazoid Tarima Sadal, and the half-Klingon, half-Tellarite villain Nus Braka will all have their own opportunities to interact with our beloved EMH.
What do you think about Robert Picardo’s comparison of The Doctor to the iconic Star Wars character Yoda? Share your thoughts and comments with us on the Redshirts Always Die Facebook and X pages. And Star Trek: Starfleet Academy debuts on Paramount Plus Thursday, Jan. 15, with two episodes to kick off the new show’s season 1 streaming run.
Live long and prosper, Trekkies!
