8. Caleb Mir and Genesis Lythe
It’s not truly romantic, which is what makes the attachment between Caleb Mir and Genesis Lythe far better. They’re both outcasts in their own ways, with Caleb so long on the run and no one to turn to. Genesis, who grew up on ships all her life as an admiral’s daughter, drives herself harder than anyone, even as she constantly thinks she can’t measure up.
Starfleet Academy's seventh episode, "Ko'Zeine," put the pair in their own spotlight, staying together at a quiet Academy and bonding during the break, both willing to cover up for the other breaking some of the rules.
Each is driven in their own ways and the respect between them is clear, especially in an emergency, as they know how the other thinks. Genesis likely wouldn’t be interested in a romance right now as she’s focused on her career in Starfleet.
However, Genesis clearly sees Caleb as something more than a brother. She and Caleb both trust each other’s instincts and have a promising partnership that will hopefully grow more in SFA’s second season.
