Star Trek characters' friendship evolves even more in episode 7.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’s seventh episode, “Ko'Zeine,” shined an even brighter light on Darem Reymi (George Hawkins). The Khionian cadet was forced to choose between his responsibility to his people and his place in Starfleet, and it was his friend and classmate Jay-Den Kraag (Karim Diane) who aided him. Warning! The following contains SPOILERS.

However, as the streaming series did tease in past episodes, there is something more going on between Darem and Jay-Den than merely friendship. And now Hawkins has confirmed that the Khionian and Klingon’s relationship “is obviously romantic,” too. Hawkins said in a new interview via ScreenRant:

“Jay-Den’s place in that role is obviously romantic. There's romantic interest there. But deeper than that, not just attraction, but the reason why these two people sort of get closer and closer, I think, is because they bring something out of each other, and that thing that they bring out is the truth. And I think that's what we're all searching for.” (Continued on page 2...)
