Star Trek's beloved Klingon roster expands

As a lifelong Star Trek fan, I love Klingons, particularly Kor, Kruge, and B'Elanna Torres. Michael Dorn’s Worf will always be my favorite, though, but I’m excited to see how Jay-Den Kraag develops over season 1 of Starfleet Academy.

I find Jay-Den Kraag and the Betazoid Tarima Sadal to be the two most intriguing newcomers to the nearly 60-year-old franchise, and one of my favorite quotes actually comes from Kraag. In the official trailer, he says: “A warrior does not let a friend face danger alone.”

True, Kraag’s focus in Starfleet Academy is medical science, and perhaps he’ll even become the next important doctor in the same lineage of Leonard McCoy and Beverly Crusher. But given what he’s saying in the trailer, it feels good knowing a warrior lies within the kind-hearted character. And I can't wait to see "the sickest Klingon," Jay-Den Kraag, in action.
