Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is finally here. There's plenty of excitement in the air, and cast member Kerrice Brooks had loads of praise for those who work behind the scenes in a recent interview.
Brooks, who plays SAM (Series Acclimation Mil), a type of holographic life form, had this to say about the pride she feels regarding the show's crew (per Etalk):
"I get so emotional because I feel like shooting the show, it taught me... it taught me that my capacity to love is deeper than I thought [...] But this show, it forced me to, I think, embrace a mass amount of people, and I didn't know my heart was that big."
Brooks continued by saying:
"And so every time I see like, footage, I don't cry because I see myself. I'm like yo, the lighting technicians, the gaffers, the makeup artists, the costumers, everyone looks so good and everyone worked... Oh God, everyone's work is being brought to the forefront, and it just makes me really proud. It just makes me so proud."
Brooks has reason to feel proud of the crew working behind the scenes of the series. After all, it began way back with Star Trek: The Original Series with some of the most creative ideas regarding makeup and sets ever created on a budget. From TOS to The Next Generation and beyond, the process has always been unique and creative in a way that feels special for everyone involved, from cast members to viewers!
