The Star Trek actor teases the end for [SPOILER].
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy certainly isn’t everyone’s hot cup of Earl Grey tea, which Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) so loved. However, it’s hard to fathom the new streaming series being as good as it is without the acting talent of Paul Giamatti. Unfortunately, the Golden Globe winner has now confirmed the end of his time as the villainous Nus Braka. Giamatti said over the weekend while appearing on The D-Con Chamber podcast:
"No. This season [2], no. I was not around. If it goes another one, perhaps I will be back around, if it goes another season [...] He [Nus Braka] does not [die]. He's — I probably shouldn't [say] — he's still alive. So, you know, something could be done with him."
Giamatti first teased Nus Braka's "end" days earlier (via TV Insider):
“He still gets it in the end. Yeah, he’s not going to succeed, believe me.”
During The D-Con Chamber podcast, Giamatti also explained that he wasn't in Toronto, which is where Starfleet Academy is being shot, nor was he going to be there before season 2 wrapped filming. However, he also told Star Trek: Enterprise's Dominic Keating and Connor Trinneer that Nus Braka’s bizarre tic-tac-toe hairdo has a life of its own, and it will be explained before the end of season 1. The actor said:
“That gets explained, actually. That was actually not something that I… that was something they said was going to be there from the get-go. And, as it goes along, by the end of my little tenure on the show, that’s explained: why he — there’s a reason he has that [hairdo] There’s a big backstory for this, which is nice.” (Continued on page 2...)
