11. George Hawkins and Kerrice Brooks
After the group photo was taken, George Hawkins and Kerrice Brooks met up with Celia Rose Gooding on the blue carpet. Brooks, of course, portrays the four-month old hologram SAM, who is one of the core-five cadets in Starfleet Academy.
Brooks is portraying a very kind and innocent character, and the actress said during the interview, “I want everyone to know that SAM is a sweet girl, and she has good intentions, and I want everyone to take care of her.”
And then Brooks and Hawkins playfully threw Bella Shepard under the bus by saying she was most likely to break character on the Starfleet Academy set. It's a sentiment Tig Notaro brought up during her own blue carpet conversation when asked the same question by Gooding.
Hawkins portrays another cadet obsessed with command, Darem Reymi. But when it comes to giving himself leadership advice, he'd want to tell his younger self the following where the expectations of being a part of the Star Trek saga are concerned.
“You’re going to smash it," Hawkins said. "Just love every moment of it. Smile... enjoy it." Remember everyone struggles with fitting into new situations, and with that in mind, George continued by saying, “Everyone else is in need of a compliment, everyone's in the same position, so be the one to give that love.”
