Conclusion

Again, even with its perfect debut on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s clear that the critics are not 100 percent on the same page when it comes to Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. Given the mixture of reviews online at this time, I’d predict that Starfleet Academy’s RT Tomatometer will settle somewhere between Discovery’s 84 percent and Picard’s 89 percent, based solely on the first six episodes, which is what the critics had to go on.
Certainly, if the final episodes of season 1 manage to find another gear of warp speed, the show’s Rotten Tomatoes score could go up, but we will have to wait and see. Are you still excited to see the upcoming Star Trek series given this mixed bag of reviews and ratings? Share your thoughts and comments with us on the Redshirts Always Die Facebook and X pages. The first two episodes of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy drop on Paramount Plus Thursday, Jan. 15.
Live long and prosper, Trekkies!
