Starfleet Academy's '300th Night' is way better than its low rating (and this is why)

6.7 out of 10 stars doesn't do director Jonathan Frakes' episode justice.

4. 'Ishaani is always gonna be our moon'

Caleb Mir has been searching for his mother since they were separated when he was a child. He searches subspace communications and every possible encryption he knows until SAM helps him remember that his mother told him that Ishaani, a distant moon, would always be theirs.

While the flashbacks only show us glimpses of his mother, Anisha Mir (Tatiana Maslany), Caleb's facial expressions and Sandro Rosta's single-tear acting make it such a bittersweet moment.

Watching Caleb go through over two years' worth of messages from his mother is equally heartbreaking, as it reveals that Anisha was looking for her son all along, reigniting his hope that they'll reunite soon.
