1. 'Series Acclimation Mil'

For Deep Space Nine fans, this episode was a delight.
Yet even if you’d never seen that show, you’d still get the gist of a story that brings up how we look at historical figures, faith and legacy. SAM is assigned by her creators to further her knowledge and chooses to examine what happened to Benjamin Sisko. She must face how Sisko has become an almost mythical figure, and it raises plenty of questions about his disappearance.
The storyline wonderfully mixes SAM’s search with a hologram of Jake Sisko (Cirroc Lofton) and a teacher (Tawny Newsome) who turns out to be the newest host for Dax. It’s a fantastic showcase for Kerrice Brooks, showing SAM as a beautifully written character who captivates and grounds the story.
The subplot is also good as Ake tries to make peace with Chancellor Kelrec, which at first seems fodder for comedy. It then becomes more dramatic and emotional as Kelrec reveals how he’s also resentful of Ake abandoning Starfleet, helping them bond. Both plots show the human elements of SFA, which made it so good.
