Starfleet Academy's 'Ko'Zeine' is way better than its low rating (and this is why)

SFA episode 7 fell flat with many viewers, but it deserves far better than its low rating.

4. Jay-Den prepares to die defending Darem

When individuals beam onto the USS Athena and kidnap Darem Reymi (George Hawkins), Jay-Den Kraag risks the unknown by following them through a transport portal.

The Klingon cadet ends up on Khionia's Sunset Moon and prepares to rush the kidnappers and crush them with a large rock, a la The Original Series episode "Arena." However, Reymi reveals he hasn't been kidnapped.

Rather, the kidnapping is a Khionian ritual, and Jay-Den soon becomes Darem's Ko'Zeine, the best man, in this case.

I truly hope these young actors find a better future in television and movies, because they all deserve better than Starfleet Academy's hasty and unfair cancellation.

Jay-Den Kraag has been a favorite for me since episode 1, and Karim Diane is one of the most talented young actors to come along in years! It's obvious he threw himself into this role with commitment and zeal, and this episode shows it.
