The SFA season 1 finale deserves way better than 6.8/10 stars!

"Rubincon" opens on a bold note with Nus Braka (Paul Giamatti) and his men transporting right onto the USS Athena's bridge. Braka, of course, beams himself right into the captain's chair.

Nus and his team swiftly abduct Nahla Ake (Holly Hunter) and Anisha Mir (Tatiana Maslany), and it’s clear they’re planning to blow up the Athena's saucer section. However, The Doctor (Robert Picardo) hands over his holo-emitter, which he's had "for almost a thousand years," to use for a clever trick as he integrates himself into the ship's computer.

It looks like the saucer section has been blasted to pieces, only for a zoom effect to reveal it’s all a massive hologram. It’s a brilliant illusion that buys the cadets time to figure out their next move. It also shows how The Doctor hasn’t lost his sense of cunning over his centuries of existence to pull off this trick.
