So far, I have enjoyed every single episode of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. However, the series premiere, “Kids These Days” (4/5 stars) remains my favorite and the standard by which the other season 1 installments must live up to. Like episode 2, “Beta Test,” “Vitus Reflux” garners 3.5/5 stars in my book. It’s an episode I enjoyed, but I won’t watch this one over and over again like the show’s debut.

I also won't discount how much the Vitus Reflux imagery affected my enjoyment of this episode. In addition to loving Star Trek, I am a lifelong horror fan. So, this episode's nod to Little Shop of Horrors was something I won't soon forget.
