If there's one thing Star Trek does well, it's the concept that proper mentorship helps young people learn about trust. Starfleet Academy is no exception, as Cadet Master Lura Thok (Gina Yashere) offers her mentorship to Jay-Den, as she is part Klingon near the episode's conclusion. She tells the young man of her own fractured past, an expression of trust, as Thok rarely shows any vulnerability.
