Stargazers: A Star Trek Story episode 12 (Redshirts review)

It only took 12 episodes, but Syrrik and Leon finally kissed.

2. Artwork

The Kisai Entertainment team's artwork in Stargazers episode 12 is just as beautiful and amusing as ever, and the diverse styles for each section pull together to give us the entire picture.

My favorite panel is just after the kiss, where the emotions in each of them are clear. Syrrik looks shocked at his actions, but Leon appears rather dreamy and as if he wouldn't mind kissing Syrrik again! As for Alfie, his facial expressions tell us that he approves of all the shenanigans, as long as he doesn't have to exercise.

The colors in the flashback section, where Leon seems to run right into a world of stars and his past while using the treadmill, make for a beautiful transition. The colors in the memories themselves are translucent and partially washed out, as old memories sometimes are.

These concepts aren't always easy to convey with digital media, but the artwork team does a fine job of it here! I especially like how "THUD" describes Leon's fall after running on the treadmill for three hours, as it gets its own panel to enhance the noise.
