2. Slow-burn character development keeps me coming back
One aspect of Stargazers I really enjoy is the way writer Jarrett Melendez uses slow-burn romance and allows the characters to realize they're capable of change after having new or unexpected experiences. For example, Syrrik finally realizes he's held feelings for Leon for years with each kiss and each interaction.
It's likely that Jato's influence ran roughshod over those feelings when Syrrik was still very young and forced him apart from the others because of his stern nature and the idea that Syrrik needed to spend all his free time preparing to join Starfleet.
Watching this intelligent young man struggle to live his authentic life keeps me coming back each week because I want so badly to see him succeed.
