2. Artwork
One great aspect of the DS9 television series was the richness of the characters and how their body language expressed how they were feeling.
Getting those feelings across in a comic medium through its artwork isn't easy, but the art team for Stargazers accomplishes this with their knack for onomatopoeia and embellished speech bubbles that include motion arrows or other art that conveys tone.
My favorite of these is the delicate flowers around Leon's speech bubble when Leon tells Churi he's "the best" after Churi agrees to take Alfie back to Leon's quarters so Leon can chat up a handsome guy named Ino, who'd shown up at the station's gym. I could almost hear Leon's tone of "what would I do without you?" in that moment.
The artwork in Stargazers also gives its characters specific traits without having to lay down any dialogue. Leon is an anxious young man who has trouble sitting still when he's upset, as shown by his desire to work out when he's feeling unsettled about his feelings for Syrrik and his undecided future.
