2. The storytelling's dialogue carries empathy

While the romantic Stargazers: A Star Trek Story webcomic series is rated Teen (13+), and targets a young adult audience, the writing is anything but hollow or trite.

In fact, it's probably relatable to readers of all ages, and for different reasons. How many of us had to stand up to our parents after we realized that the life mom or dad had so carefully planned out isn't what we wanted? We outgrew the mold, just as Syrrik has.

However, Syrrik still feels he must answer for his father's actions, in regard to what happened with Gracie, and this is where the storytelling and dialogue really shine in this episode.

In the aformentioned scene at Zimmerman's on DS9, Syrrik doesn't relax until Gracie says to him, "And don't think just because you're his kin that I'll hold any grudges. You're plenty welcome here." After that, Syrrik perks up, clearly relieved that he won't be turned away because of his father's actions.
