3. Storytelling
Although we get a glimpse at what Leon and his friends are up to while Syrrik and Jato’s conversation is taking place, make no mistake, Stargazers episode 22 is all about the father-son relationship.
We have been waiting for this conversation for a while, hoping that Jato may find some shred of compassion for his own son within him. Unfortunately, the episode only serves to villainize Jato further, while giving us a solidified protagonist in Syrrik.
Episode 22 set the tone for the next several episodes. With Syrrik having established significant relationships with Leon and his crew, we can now assume that those bonds will strengthen even further. This was beyond a filler episode and served to advance the story in a significant manner.
