1. Character development
While we don't know too much about the Stargazers character MeeMee yet, there's something about her that screams, "Group mom friend!" This is especially evident as the writing slowly reveals more about MeeMee from issue to issue. One example in episode is where she calls Leon and his friends "sweets" and "kids."
While we don't know her age compared to Leon, the way they speak to each other does hint that the salon owner is very comfortable with them. And if there is an age gap, MeeMee is the mom friend who knows how to close it. My favorite moment is when Kenga says the group has a favor to ask and MeeMee replies, "Kenga, is this a make-a-body or hide-a-body favor?" Kira Nerys energy, anyone?
