The stunning artwork in Stargazers episode 9 plays a huge role in how the story is told. Most notably, both Leon and Syrrik are often drawn as kids with bright lighting around them on multiple occasions.
Leon and Syrrik are portrayed in this manner during awkward moments that one might associate with their own childhood. Drawing them in this way indicates to the reader this is a moment worth paying attention to, and that both characters are very uncomfortable as they uncover their true selves.
Adjacent to the humans, little Aflie continues to be portrayed with significant facial expressions. While he is not quite anthropomorphic, the French bulldog's own development is as that of a carefree companion to Leon, which becomes clear through the art style. Additionally, Alfie’s expressions often mirror those of Leon’s, suggesting that the two are in lockstep together.
