Star Trek fans still have two seasons of Strange New Worlds to look forward to, but the must-see streaming series will soon be committed to the history books. However, a ton of SNW items are now available to bid on, as a new lot in 403 Auction’s continuing Star Trek universe series just opened today (Friday, May 22). And Trekkies even have a shot at taking home Captain Christopher Pike’s (Anson Mount) kitchen cabinets!
Yes, 403's Star Trek universe auction No. 5 includes Pike’s kitchen cabinets (Lot 10893), which currently has no bidders at the time of this writing — and the starting bid is only $2! One of my favorite things about Pike is his predilection for cooking. Had his career as the USS Enterprise’s commander not worked out, I have no doubts Pike would have gone down in history as one of Starfleet’s greatest chefs.
The other standout Strange New Worlds set piece available is the Enterprise’s transporter room control console (Lot 10000), which has a starting bid of only $5! Several items from different crew members’ quarters are also up for bid, including set pieces from Una Chin-Riley, Nyota Uhura, and even Sam Kirk’s rooms on the Enterprise. Trekkies will also find the 61" x 19" oval mirror from Lt. Erica Ortegas’ home away from home on the auction.
Those who don’t want to pay extravagant prices can still walk away with smaller items like Strange New Worlds tumblers and cups with the Delta insignia imprinted on each. Unfortunately, 403 Auctions, which is located in Brampton, Ontario, does NOT offer shipping. So, regardless of what item(s) you win in the auction, they will have to be picked up. The instructions to do so are as follows (per 403 Auction’s official website):
“Pickup for this auction is Saturday, May 30, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Sunday, May 31, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. by appointment only. Appointments can be booked by viewing your invoice in my account. Appointment booking will open at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 29."
The instructions continue as follows:
"Pick up times are not able to be extended for any reason. 403Auction staff is not permitted to assist with loading. Items will be brought to the shipping door and customers are responsible for removal from that point. Please bring any help that you will need.”
