A hushed and heartfelt goodbye to Strange New Worlds.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds seemed to be stalled on impulse power after a mediocre season 3 came and went earlier this year. However, with season 4 already prepped and ready to take flight in 2026, the fifth and final season is now officially wrapping. Captain Christopher Pike himself, Anson Mount, revealed his own hushed and heartfelt goodbye (below) online to the science fiction series which he’s starred in since day one back in 2022. Mount posted only the following text with the nostalgic video (via Instagram):

"❤️🖖"

Mount has been dedicated to his coverage of the final days of filming Strange New Worlds as the actor has constantly updated his Instagram account with photos and videos. There was even a hilarious post in which Mount revealed he lost the opportunity to sleep in when a fire alarm screeched in his hotel after someone left a pan on the oven while trying to cook breakfast.

Fortunately, today’s social media post didn’t include an incendiary angle, but it’s evident that Mount is going to miss his on-and-off-screen Trek family and shooting in Toronto. For us fans, though, Strange New Worlds season 4 and 5 are still on the horizon, and this Trekkie is dying and hoping to see a glimpse of the Mirror Universe and a more substantial “appearance” by John de Lancie before the swan song decrescendos into the streaming history books.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 5 hasn’t received an official release date, at the time this story was published, but season 4 is expected to drop on Paramount+ in 2026. Are you feeling emotional knowing the end is near for SNW?
