The sneak peek does offer some new footage of CAPTAIN James T. Kirk.
Star Trek executive producer Alex Kurtzman, plus Strange New Worlds showrunners Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers joined the majority of SNW’s stellar cast (Anson Mount, Ethan Peck, Paul Wesley, Celia Rose Gooding, Rebecca Romijn, Melissa Navia, and Christina Chong) today in Hall H as a new sneak peek of season 4 was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con.
Fans can watch the footage below, which does feature Paul Wesley as Captain James T. Kirk, presumably from the Strange New Worlds season 4 finale, "Tomorrow's Enterprise." However, I'm shocked that there wasn't any footage of SNW season 5 or, for that matter, a teaser of Starfleet Academy season 2 at this year's SDCC.
I know that production wrapped long ago on the final six more episodes of Strange New Worlds which will be released during season 5. So, why couldn't Kurtzman, Goldsman, and Myers have bothered to put together a little sizzle reel, at the very least, teasing the beloved show's swan song?
However, I will admit, the footage from the Strange New Worlds season 4 sneak peak looks amazing and quite intriguing. Now, without question, the best part of the 90-second clip comes at the end with the revelation of CAPTAIN Kirk alongside Scotty (Martin Quinn) and Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding.
Although, in addition to Uhura sporting Nichelle Nichols' classic Star Trek hairdo, I was delighted to see that T'Pring (Gia Sandhu) is returning for season 4. How about you? What did you think of the SNW sneak peek from this year’s San Diego Comic-Con?
