SNW showrunner hints at when fans can expect to see Spock, Pike, and company this year.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds fans won’t have to wait much longer for the highly anticipated fourth season of the popular science fiction series. While attending this year's Saturn Awards, which included a celebration of the upcoming 60th anniversary of Star Trek, co-showrunner Henry Alonso Myers provided an update that should delight most Trekkies —even if we all have to wait just a little bit longer for the USS Enterprise to return to Paramount+. Myers said via TrekMovie.com:
“I’m literally still working on season 4 as well as season 5 right now, so it doesn’t feel like — we wrapped photography, but we’ll be working on post and editorial and sound and score and all that stuff for another six to 10 months. We’ll still be working on [season 5] when you get to see season 4.”
For those fans reading between the lines, Strange New Worlds season 4 will drop sometime within that six-to-10 month window Myers mentioned. The SNW co-showrunner went on to say:
"We’ve been told a window, so that’s where we’re going to be, I would say late summer, but take that as a guess and not really a locked date.”
If I were a betting man, I’d wager season 4 will drop just after this summer’s San Diego Comic-Con (July 23-26), which will give Paramount Skydance the proper venue to release the official trailer and properly promote the show’s return in late July or early August — that's my guess.
