As a prequel to The Original Series, Strange New Worlds has used past Star Trek characters a lot. However, one not delved into yet is Sybok, Spock’s half-brother. He was spotted at the end of the first-season episode “The Serene Squall.” He was imprisoned in a Vulcan criminal rehabilitation center, and T'Pring (Gia Sandhu) served as his jailer.

Speaking to TrekMovie.com at this year's Saturn Awards, Henry Alonso Myers brought up the illogical villain and how he returns in the future. “There’s a future with Sybok where we deal with Sybok, I’m going to say that," Myers explained. "You have some future with Sybok to experience on the show.”

Portrayed by Laurence Luckinbill in 1989’s Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, Sybok was Spock’s illogical half-brother. Sybok was an outcast among Vulcans because he embraced emotions, and he possessed a telepathic ability to alleviate the pain of others while also controling them. He used that ability to help steal the USS Enterprise on a bizarre quest to find Sha Ka Ree.

While the movie was a flop with audiences and critics, Luckinbill made Sybok a vibrant character. Bringing Sybok in would be tricky, as it muddies the Trek timeline. Spock kept Sybok’s existence a secret from many, but he did reveal his half-brother's imprisonment to Christine Chapel (Jess Bush) near the end of “The Serene Squall.”

There’s no actor cast in the role yet, but bringing back Sybok is another reason the final SNW seasons are so intriguing to fans.
