Meet the captain of the Enterprise in the birthplace of jazz.
Star Trek’s highly anticipated 60th anniversary celebration inches ever closer — it seems at only impulse power sometimes — but fans don’t have to wait until August to meet William Shatner at the mammoth ST-LV 2026 convention scheduled in Las Vegas. After all, why delay when the veteran actor, who is best known for portraying James T. Kirk, is headed to The Big Easy for next weekend’s GalaxyCon?
Shatner will be on hand two of the three days GalaxyCon New Orleans is being held: Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11. Fans who would like to commemorate meeting the iconic actor can also purchase their “celebrity experience” ahead of time on the convention’s official website.
An authentic Shatner autograph written on an 8x10 photo will cost Star Trek fans $120. Meanwhile, autographs on other items like collectibles, books, and other pictures will run those in attendance $150. Likewise, a professional photo op with the captain of the USS Enterprise costs $150.
For those who are unable to make the trip to New Orleans, Shatner will also be appearing at both the Raleigh, North Carolina (July 24 & 25) and the Columbus, Ohio (Dec. 4 & 5) GalaxyCon events scheduled after the Captain Kirk actor’s trip to the birthplace of jazz.
Next weekend's GalaxyCon will be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in downtown New Orleans on Friday, July 10 (2 p.m. – 1 a.m. CT), Saturday, July 11 (10 a.m. – 1 a.m.), and Sunday, July 12, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. For more information and to purchase tickets to the event, please visit the con’s website.
