Meet your favorite Star Trek actors in The City Beautiful!
No one really needs a reason to visit the Sunshine State. However, Star Trek fans now have an added incentive because several of the science fiction franchise’s most beloved actors are descending on The City Beautiful over the weekend for this year’s MEGACON Orlando. And Trekkies can meet icons William Shatner and Walter Koenig along with several others over the four-day weekend from March 19 through March 22.
However, if you want to meet Captain James T. Kirk, you’ll need to hurry. Shatner will only be appearing at MEGACON on Thursday and Friday, whereas Pavel Chekov himself (Koenig) will attend the event for three days straight (Thursday-Saturday).
Trekkies can also meet the Kelvin Timeline’s own Dr. Leonard McCoy, Karl Urban, who will be in attendance on Saturday and Sunday.
Next Generation fanatics, MEGACON has you covered, too. TNG’s and Picard's own William Riker (Jonathan Frakes), Data (Brent Spiner), and Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden) will all three be on hand from Friday through Sunday for those fans who live in Florida or can make the trip to the Sunshine State.
I love Florida and its infinite number of beaches anyway. However, Trekkies can triple dip the good times this weekend by visiting the world renowned Cocoa Beach, which is only an hour away (traffic permitting), checking out Orlando’s fantastic theme parks, and spending time at MEGACON with some iconic Star Trek actors.
MEGACON 2026 is being held at the Orlando County Convention Center from March 19 through March 22. At the time of this writing, plenty of single-day tickets remain, as does the 4-day pass ($159). However, the Ultimate and VIP Passes have already sold out.
