We have some awesome news for Star Trek fans! If you've been waiting patiently for new episodes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, that two-year wait after the season 2 finale is almost over.
Strange New Worlds season 3 premieres on Paramount+ on Thursday, July 17. The first two episodes of the series will be available to stream just after midnight PT on Thursday, July 17, which is 3 a.m. ET. Paramount+ has not officially announced the release time, but that's usually when new episodes drop on the platform for the Paramount+ original shows.
New episodes of Strange New Worlds season 3 will be released weekly on Thursday through the season finale on Thursday, Sept. 11, on Paramount+. Like the first two seasons of Strange New Worlds, there are 10 episodes in the third season, as well.
It's great that we're getting weekly episodes rather than the binge drop, like Netflix or Prime Video. This is a show that needs to be savored, in my opinion.
Strange New Worlds season 3 features an excellent cast, including Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike and Ethan Peck as Spock. Celia Rose Gooding, Christina Chong, Babs Olusanmokun, Jess Bush, Melissa Navia, Paul Wesley, and Rebecca Romijn round out the rest of the main cast.

As for where the story will begin, the third season should pick up after the events of the season 2 finale, "Hegemony." Remember, the second season ended on a cliffhanger with the Gorn about to capture the crew of the Enterprise when the episode ended. We're going to find out exactly what happened in those moments after that cliffhanger in the season 3 premiere, which is titled "Hegemony, Part II."
We don't often get two-part episodes, which is what the finale and premiere likely are, spread out over a finale and a premiere. Typically, it's a two-part premiere or a two-part finale, so it's kind of refreshing that way. I can't wait to see what Akiva Goldsman and the team came up with!

Strange New Worlds season 4 is already renewed and happening. We also just learned recently that Strange New Worlds season 5 is in the works, but it will be the final season of the series. Season 5 will also only consist of six episodes, four episodes shorter than the first four seasons of the series.
