Star Trek 2017 showrunner Bryan Fuller tweeted a picture of an unfinished captains chair that is probably the seat from CBS’ new Star Trek series.

ICYMI: Star Trek 4 may return Trek to the original Prime timeline.

The bridge is the heart of every Star Trek series, and the captain’s chair is the centerpiece of the bridge. The captain’s chair is more than just a seat in Star Trek, it’s the center point on which the rest of the show revolves.

Bryan Fuller is the showrunner for CBS’ new Star Trek series and today he tweeted a picture of what appears to be an unfinished captain’s chair. Clearly this is the unupholstered version of the chair from the series.

Feast your eyes on that! Sure the chair is just wood now, but soon that chair will be the center of a whole new Star Trek series.

It’s interesting to see the chair because it means we are almost guaranteed to learn something about the new series during the Star Trek Comic-Con panel. Don’t get your hopes up for a trailer, the series hasn’t even started filming yet, but maybe we will get a cast announcement!

The chair also looks very modern and very prime timeline. We don’t see that chair looking right on the bridge of a ship from the pre-TNG era, that’s a post-TNG chair if we’ve ever seen one.
