If you saw any of the Captain America movies, then you know Anthony Mackie can play the loyal friend and second-in-command. Mackie’s Falcon has Captain America’s back in every situation. Maybe it’s his turn to take charge. We see Mackie as the type of captain that would insist on going on away missions, much like James Kirk. There’s no way he would be ok sitting on the bridge while someone else had all the fun.

Jean-Luc Picard was a fantastic captain but perhaps it’s time to step back from the intellectual and return to that sense of adventure. Benjamin Sisko certainly had some of these characteristics, but his Star Trek was never really about exploration. Anthony Mackie might be the perfect captain to lead the charge as we once again boldly go where no man has gone before.

Mackie’s appearances in the Captain America movies make him a recognizable name but not someone who could be perceived as someone picked just because he’s famous.
