She thrived under the pressure of such a role and was an extremely important factor in the success of the show.

The Shield went on to won 2 Golden Globes and will be fondly remembered as a classic television series before the age of Netflix. Catherine Dent would make a fine Star Trek captain and having spent years dealing with the most dangerous criminals of Los Angeles, wouldn’t be scared of taking on any rowdy Romulans. She would be a tough captain, capable of making big decisions when the time called for it.

Dent is receiving attention at the moment for her work as a writer and producer, although the opportunity to become a captain on the new Star Trek series might be too much to turn down.
