In this episode of Tabletop Wil Wheaton and friends take on trolls and attempt to be the Champions of Midgard.
Wil Wheaton, who most Trekkies know as Wesley Crusher from Star Trek: The Next Generation, hosts a wonderful web show called TableTop. TableTop is a “we play” YouTube show with a twist, instead of playing the latest first person shooter Wil and his guests play a board game.
The show is great fun and shows you the ins and outs of a board game. This way you get to see the game in action before you buy the game. I’m a huge fan of board games, but it can be hard to get a good picture of a game from a box cover. You really need to see a game in action to understand it and know if it’s a game you and your friends would enjoy.
Tabletop is wonderful because it lets you get a sense of a board game and Wil usually has on some great nerd guests as well. In the past Wil has even been joined by Star Trek: Voyager’s Jeri Ryan.
This week Wheaton has Alison Haislip, from Titansgrave, Battlebots, and Attack of the Show, former Minnesota Viking kicker Chris Kluwe, and Marisha Ray from Critical Role ready to defend the town of Midgard as brave viking warriors in Guardians of Midgard.
Champions of Midgard is a viking themed game where you try to protect the viking town from various viking enemies like trolls and ogres. Let’s see how the best viking in the land is in Tabletop season 4, episode 2.
Well it’s only fitting that the former Minnesota Viking won as the best viking in the land. Even after four seasons Wheaton’s Tabletop hasn’t lost any of its fun and charm. Tabletop is the next best thing to getting together with your friends and playing a board game.
