“Pigs In Space” Returns

The classic Muppets sketch “Pigs In Space”, which was based on Star Trek, returns with a brand new episode.

They are just rebooting everything now aren’t they? Well I won’t complain too much about this reboot, it’s a venerable science fiction franchise after all. No, it isn’t more Star Trek or Star Wars, it’s the classic Muppets sketch “Pigs In Space”.

“Pigs in Space” started as a Muppet Show sketch parodying Star Trek and soon became one of the most popular Muppet bits. The crew consists of Captain Link Hogthrob, First Mate Piggy, and Dr. Julius Strangepork… and now perhaps a new member?

In this “Pigs in Space” return we see the crew parodying a classic scene from Alien, in a way that only they could.

It appears the brave crew is back and ready for more daring adventures as they boldly go where no pig has gone before. There’s no word on how often we will be getting updates on the S.S. Swinetrek, but it does seem implied that there will be more videos to come. It’s probably a good idea to subscribe to The Muppets YouTube channel just in case, everyone could use more Muppets in their life.

2016 has been a rough year, it’s time we got something great out of it, and the return of “Pigs In Space” might be just the thing. I wonder if Captain Link Hogthrob will continue to give off the William Shatner James T. Kirk vibe, or will his character be updated to be the more introspective Chris Pine William T. Kirk?
