North Dakota – Michael Forest

North Dakota born actor Michael Forest has been acting for many decades. He’s had various roles in film and on TV, but his episode on Star Trek is his most recognized role.

In a 1967 episode of the original Star Trek series, Forest appears in the episode “Who Mourns for Adonais?” He plays the character of an alien who believes himself to be the Greek god Apollo. He captures the crew of the Enterprise and refuses to let them leave his planet. Apollo demands that they stay and worship him as their god, which is something that Captain Kirk doesn’t want to do.

Interestingly enough, Kirk and McCoy come to realize that this is indeed the real Apollo. But he’s not a god as previously thought by ancient Greeks. Rather he is in fact an alien, part of a group of powerful aliens who visited Earth many centuries ago. They would thrive and bask in the attention of the ancient Greeks.

Interestingly enough, this wouldn’t be the only time Forest would play Apollo. Nearly five decades later, Forest would play him again in the Star Trek Continues web-series in the episode “Pilgrim of Eternity”.
