McDonald’s Japan has a new Star Trek themed commercial that has to be seen to be believed.
It’s Friday, what better time to get weird than Friday. McDonald’s Japan has a new commercial that parodies Star Trek, and to say it’s just strange isn’t giving it enough credit. Calling it a commerical may not even be fair, because it’s a four and a half minute long Star Trek and hamburger parody film full of wonder and weird, get ready.
The video is promoting the Yakki Burger and according to Rocket News 24 if you were seeing it in a 4D Japanese theater there would be all kinds of smells to accompany it. It’s the first 4D Star Trek themed McDonald’s commercial.
It’s got the strange hamburger space versions of all your favorites Kirk, Uhura, Spock, and for whatever reason Chewbacca with pigtails.
You really have to see this to believe it.
So as far as I can tell, I don’t know Japanese, this is basically the plot from Star Trek: The Motion Picture. The Yakki sandwich is V’ger and has come back to meet its makers with deliciousness and trippy visuals inside its bun.
This crew is almost as reckless as Dexter. I don’t think you should stick your finger into a substance you found in a weird floating space hamburger, even if it appears to be delicious special sauce.
Obviously tasting the special sauce is forbidden too, because then the hamburger attacks them with onions or ice or… why am I trying to rationalize this craziness?
