The ‘Star Trek: Deep Space Nine’ documentary ‘What We Left Behind’ has raised over $500,000 dollars, which means we will be getting some HD DS9 scenes.

As we enter the last three days of the crowdfunding campaign for the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine documentary What We Left Behind excitement is building. What We Left Behind has raised almost $525,000 dollars and all the project’s stretch goals have been achieved. This means that we are going to get some HD Star Trek: Deep Space Nine scenes!

Even by the standards of Star Trek crowdfunding projects this has been wildly successful. The success of For The Love of Spock showed the world that there was significant interest in the history of Star Trek and the success of the What We Left Behind crowdfunding campaign just reinforces that.

Even in the final days of the campaign though the team behind the project are still pushing forward. A London premiere for the documentary has been announced and a new perk has been added that includes tickets to that premiere. For a $200 dollar donation you and a guest get tickets to the premiere in London. If 100 units of this perk are sold they will even have a VIP guest host for these perk buyers.

It’s wonderful to see this documentary succeeding. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is my favorite Trek series but it often gets overshadowed by Star Trek: The Original Series and Star Trek: The Next Generation in documentaries on Trek.
