New McFarlane Toys Trek line available for preorder
By Adam Sokol
McFarlane Toys is debuting a new Star Trek line. The first two are to be released tomorrow are a Captain Kirk and Captain Picard figure.
There’s been a lot of Star Trek news breaking this week. A lot. And Lost in all the Trek news that’s broken this week is the first peek at McFarlane Toys new line of Trek toys.
We’ve got some pics for you. The toy line is out tomorrow. Here’s a look at the new Trek toys. Kirk and Picard action figures are the first to be released. The level of detail is amazing. They are officially on sale as of 06/23, but they are available for preorder now for $19.99 each. As of now, only Picard and Kirk are available for preorder. nor has there been word as to when to expect more figures in the line.
If the rest of the line looks anything like these two, the rest are going to be worth the wait. About the Captain Kirk action figure, McFarlane Toys say:
"Captain Kirk is shown in his Command Yellow Starfleet uniform and will come with a Type II Phaser, a Communicator, and a Phaser Rifle. Figure Stands 7 inches tall and comes complete with multiple articulation points and a stylized brand specific base."
And here’s what McFarlane has to say about the Picard figure:
"Captain Picard is shown in his Command Red Starfleet (Type B) uniform and will come with a Type II Phaser and the Ressikan Flute, from the episode Inner Light. Figure stands 7 inches tall and comes complete with multiple articulation points and a stylized brand specific base."

Next: Will Tarantino’s Trek movie include the Kelvin crew?
These are just the first of a new line of Trek toys planned by McFarlane toys. I am wondering why we don’t get Sisko and Janeway to go along with the other captains. Maybe those are going to be the next two released. Last year, McFarlane Toys announced a new line of Discovery toys. They were initially planned to be released this past spring, but spring came and went without a release. No new news on that line has been announced last year.
Judging by those pictures they’ve come leaps and bounds from the Picard figure I had growing up. You can preorder them here.
