CBS has released a whole bunch of new images for “The Red Angel” the upcoming tenth episode of Star Trek: Discovery Season 2.

If I could borrow a phrase from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it looks like the endgame has begun for the second season of Star Trek: Discovery.

The crew of the U.S.S. Discovery now know who the Red Angel is. And they have a plan in motion to deal with whatever the Red Angel is and the threat it posses to the galaxy. Despite last week’s emotional episode that most fans are still trying to come to terms with, it looks like the Discovery producers have no intention of taking their foot off the accelerator.

More from Star Trek: Discovery

With only a handful of episodes left in the second season, there are plot lines to resolve, relationships that need attention and a universe to save. All in a day’s work for the crew of the Discovery.

This week’s episode is titled “The Red Angel” and every indication is that the identity of the Red Angel, which has been a source of constant debate from the first episode of Season 2, will finally stand revealed. Will it be an older Spock? Someone from another timeline? Something that fans won’t see coming? It looks like everyone will finally have some answers very soon.

To get the hype building for what is sure to be a key episode, CBS has released not one, not two but 18 images from “The Red Angel” which is almost double what they normally reveal. Might give you some indication how important this episode is going to be.

Quite a lot going on, huh?

“The Red Angel” synopsis:

"Burnham is stunned when she learns her ties to Section 31 run deeper than she ever fathomed. Armed with the identity of the Red Angel, the U.S.S. Discovery goes to work on its most critical mission to date."

“The Red Angel” is written by Chris Silvestri & Anthony Maranville, both veterans of Discovery Season 1 and is directed by Hanelle Culpepper, who as you may know will be directing the first two episodes of Star Trek: Picard.

In addition to the bevy of new images, the trailer for the episode is available on Star Trek.com and has made it’s way onto YouTube as well.

The long awaited reveal of the mysterious Red Angel is almost upon us. Let’s all hope that it lives up to all the hype because if it turns out to be Sybok, there are gonna be a whole lot of pissed Star trek fans out there.
