One of the Star Trek projects that was largely absent from San Diego Comic-Con was the new animated series heading to Nickelodeon. The project, which doesn’t have a title yet, is aimed at a younger demographic than the typical Star Trek series in an attempt to grow the fanbase.
The series will see a group of young teens who discovery a run-down Federation starship and use it to try and find adventure and meaning to their lives. It is being developed by Kevin Hageman and Dan Hageman, who worked on Trollhunters and The LEGO Movie, and is being and overseen by Ramsey Naito of Nickelodeon.
But other than that, little to nothing is know about the series. While some fans are hoping that the upcoming Star Trek Las Vegas might provide a bit more information, it turns out they won’t have to wait that long.
The Brothers Hageman went to their Twitter feed to reveal the names of the talented individuals who will be joining the Writers’ Room for the new project.
Top translate all those user names, the Writers’ Room will include Chad Quandt, Aaron Waltke, Julie Benson, Shawna Benson, Erin McNamara, Keith Sweet, Lisa Boyd, Diandra Pendle-Thompson, and Nikhil Jayaram.
The new series will be animated by Eye Animation Productions, the brand new animation studio within CBS Television Studios. It is being created with the help of Alex Kurtzman and his crew at Secret Hideout who will be executive producers.
If the Writers’ Room has been assembled, then it won’t be too long before we get some more information about the new series. Could fans finally get a title at Star Trek Las Vegas? Anything is possible. Keep it here on Redshirts Always Die for more information as it develops.
