The heroes had their turn, now the villains advance into the second round or the Star Trek March Madness poll. See who made it into the Surly 16 below!

The villains are now on deck as the pool thins in the 2020 March Madness Star Trek poll. The top four all advanced as expected, with Khan Noonien Singh, Q, Gul Dukat, and the Borg Queen all winning easily. The Borg Queen had the best showing in round one, with only one person voting against her.

A minor upset occurred when Sela defeated Michael Eddington by three votes. I expected Eddington to go deep into the tournament, as he was one of Star Trek: Deep Space Nines’ best villains. That’s not going to happen now.

The second round shakes out like this, Khan Noonien Singh gets Weyoun. Admiral Marcus takes on the Duras Sisters. Dr. Soran has to take on the diabolical Kai Winn. Q seems to have an easy task with Sela. The Gorn Captain hopes to live another day against Gul Dukat. The Female changeling/founder gets Lore, while it’s an all Klingon-affair when General Chang takes on Kruge. Lastly it’s Gowron vs. the Borg Queen.

The polls to vote for the second round of the heroes’ bracket is open until March 31st, so the villains will be open until April 1st. That’s no joke, just when the polls will close for round two. Obviously, April 1st will also see the Elite Eight launch for the heroes’ side. So be sure to tune in and check out the polls as they come out throughout the next few weeks.
