Star Trek: Voyager documentary crowdfunding exceeds $625,000
Crowdfunding for Star Trek: The Voyager documentary just launched a week ago with a goal of $150,000, and it has already achieved 419% of that goal. As of this writing, $629,862 has been raised by close to 6,000 backers, which shows the true dedication and determination of Voyager fans. And the extra money will allow the documentary to be expanded beyond what was initially planned.
Now, 455 Films, the production team behind the documentary, will be able to include additional 3d graphics and animation. They will be able to film the Voyager reunion in London in November, and the film will be expanded to ninety minutes or longer. An original score can now be composed for the documentary, and all backers will receive a free digital soundtrack. Follow-up interviews will be conducted for additional information and two free magnets have been added for backers with physical perks. Once the crowdfunding reaches $675,000, 455 Films will be able to license the Voyager title theme music by Jerry Goldsmith which the team really wants. As do we all!
Twenty-five days remain in the campaign, and amazing perks abound, including an eight-pack of Worlds of the Delta Quadrant postcards, almost like the Voyager crew had picked up a postcard whenever they visited a new alien world. Zoom Virtual Experiences are also available. Lasting one hour, these Zoom mini-conventions are limited to only a few dozen people, and stars from not only Voyager will be taking part. Star Trek: Enterprise stars Dominic Keating and Connor Trinneer and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine stars Nana Visitor, Armin Shimerman, Cirroc Lofton, and Max Grodenchik have Zoom Virtual Experiences available for backers, and they start at $100.
455 Films is the production team behind many Star Trek-related documentaries, including “What We Left Behind,” “For the Love of Spock,” “Chaos on the Bridge,” “The Captains,” The Captains Close Up,” “Still Kicking,” and “Get a Life.”
