VioDance brings Star Trek: Lower Decks to life in a new video.

Star Trek is one of the most well-known entities out there in the world when it comes to recognizable theme songs. Obviously the original stands out but the theme for The Next Generation is just as iconic to the pop culture zeitgeist. Yet, die-hard fans will also point out the themes from Voyager and Deep Space Nine are magnificent. Plus, who doesn’t love Shape of the Heart? Now new shows like Star Trek: Lower Decks are hoping their theme also stands the test of time.

The music of Star Trek is so timeless and enchanting that many people have taken up doing their own versions of these iconic and classic themes.

VioDance is a Spain-based couple who are getting well known for their hauntingly beautiful renditions of songs. Rebeca Sanchez, originally from Venezuela is the violinist, and she’s usually the one front and center in all of the duo’s videos. Her husband, Davor Jelacic, originally from Bosnia-Herzegovina is the mastermind behind all the visual effects for the videos. The duo works well together, obviously, and has been able to bring some impressive visuals to life.

Well, now they’ve decided to tackle the Lower Deck theme, all while monochrome Sanchez appears rotoscoped on the Cerritos.

VioDance has covered Star Trek before

The couple has done work before involving Star Trek. The two of them made a melody video a year ago that currently has 1.8 million views. They covered the original theme, Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Archer’s theme from Enterprise, Discovery, and Picard’s theme.

So it was only logical they did a Lower Decks cover eventually.

That’s not all though, as the duo are currently working on a Star Trek cover album that will be out in the near future apparently.
