Humor abounds in the Star Trek community

Trekkies are some of the world’s best at creatively showcasing their favorite series, movies, and characters. Whether it’s Hamlet being sung in Klingon or Captain Jean-Luc Picard singing “Make it So,” the Star Trek community has given us plenty of humor over the years as well. CaptRobau as the creator is known on Youtube, knocked it out of the park with the use of Wombo.AI for this particular video.

Though it’s only fifty-eight seconds long, CaptRobau brings so much hilarity to this video that you have to watch it more than once to get the full effect. The main characters from Star Trek: The Next Generation lip sync to Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive,” and you haven’t seen anything until you’ve seen Captain Picard go from stern, diplomatic leader to suave, sophisticated singer of a power ballad. The eyebrows really make his singing something you won’t easily forget.

Worf appears only briefly in this Star Trek sing-a-long

AI lip-syncing relies on the use of photographs, and the pictures have to work with the movements of the lips and face, or it’ll look weird. So there isn’t much of Worf in this video. Unfortunately, there’s only about three seconds of him lip-syncing, but those are three perfect seconds. I dare you not to laugh at his eyes.

There’s a surprise at the end of the video that I won’t spoil because it really is a must see for yourself situation. And while you think the song would be complete with just the main characters of The Next Generation, the addition makes it even better as this character is certainly one that will survive for all eternity.

Creative trekkies continue to amaze me, and videos like this are just one reason why I will never get bored with the fandom.
