Funko is trying to make you pay for the new Star Trek: Wrath of Khan Pop with your tears.

Many Star Trek fans were near tears or in complete meltdown mode when Spock, dying, told James T. Kirk, that he was and will always be, his friend. You have a tear in your eye now, don’t you? It’s fine. It’s a beautifully sad scene, designed to be Leonard Nimoy’s farewell to the Star Trek franchise.

Turned out Nimoy had such a fun time dying, he came back for four more movies and a short stint in the Next Generation series.

The set for the shot wasn’t the most especially when it was practically re-done in Star Trek: Into Darkness, but for the late 70s, and early 80s, the ship never looked better. Despite advancements in set designs, the scene still holds up, due in part to the dialogue making it iconic.

It’s that key scene, where Spock and Kirk share one last moment, as Spock utters his most famous lines, that Funko decided to capture in all of their perfect Pop glory. Now it can be yours via Target (it’s a Target exclusive) for just $35, plus shipping and handling.

Funko nailed this Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan collectible

These Funko collectibles are exactly what fans should want from the brand. Key scenes from the show and movie will pop fans for sure, and if you’re Funko, the whole point is to generate interest in your brand beyond just the standard figure or two.

Personally, I have a few Pops, but no Star Trek ones, but that’s going to change, as I love this collectible. Wrath of Khan was the first original series property I’ve ever seen and while it’s not in my top five films, it’s one of those scenes that shows the peak of Star Trek storytelling. That’s something that should be immortalized.
