Today is Star Trek: First Contact Day, but what is it and why is it so important?
Today is Star Trek: First Contact day and it’s one of the most important days on the calendar for all Star Trek fans. For newer fans, though, it may not be exactly known what First Contact Day is. Well, it’s the in-universe date that the Vulcans landed on Earth to establish first contact with humanity.
It was depicted in the film, Star Trek: First Contact, and was revealed to have happened on April 5, 2063.
Due to that, this is a holiday that is often shared a bit ironically by Star Trek fans in a variety of ways. Mostly by watching First Contact.
