Kate Mulgrew will be returning to Star Trek Online for “Stormfront”.

Fans of Star Trek Online will want to keep an eye out for this new update to the game. The franchise has been doing a story arc for players involving the Mirror Universe, which brought in Star Trek: Discovery star Mary Wiseman as Captain Killy, the Mirror Universe of her character on the show, Tilly. Along with her came Kate Mulgrew, who was playing Admiral Janeway, and in this new update to the game, both characters are back, voiced by their respective actresses.

This latest chapter will see players go on a rescue mission into the Mirror Universe alongside Admiral Kathryn Janeway. Joining her are some familiar Star Trek faces. First is Noah Averback-Katz, who played Ryn in Discovery. Also joining her is Admiral Leeta, the same Leeta from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. She’ll once again be played (voiced) by Chase Masterson.

Your rag-tag group of heroes will be attempting to defeat Captain Killy once and for all.

The game tasks you with saving an iconic Star Trek character.

Once you get logged on and caught up, you’ll find that you aren’t just battling Captain Killy, but trying to save one of the more intriguing characters in the history of the franchise; the Deltan lieutenant herself, Lt. Ilia. Older fans will remember her turn on Star Trek: The Motion Picture, played by Persis Khambatta.

Her look is among the more iconic of the franchise, even though the character hasn’t been seen since the events of the film. Having her back in the franchise, even if it’s non-canon content like Star Trek Online will surely open up the possibility of new fans checking out the first film in the franchise.

Since it’s being re-released soon, it seems to be rather serendipitous.

Here’s the official synopsis of the game;

"In the final few moments of the last episode, “Red Shift,” players discovered that the individual they had been searching for is actually Lieutenant Ilia from Star Trek: The Motion Picture. In “Stormfall,” Captains will receive orders from Admiral Janeway (voiced by Kate Mugrew from Star Trek: Voyager) to embark on a mission to rescue the captured Deltan Starfleet Officer from a Terran Space Dock. Ilia tells players she needs their help in preventing the Terran Empire from summoning a powerful nemesis. These Terran forces are led by the dreaded Captain Killy (voiced by Mary Wiseman from Star Trek: Discovery) and in order to stop them, Captains will team up with former enemy-turned-ally, Admiral Leeta, (voiced by Chase Masterson from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine),and an Andorian rebel named Rae-Yeet (voiced by Noah Averbach-Katz from Star Trek: Discovery)."
