Did Star Trek: Picard EP drop a major hint about Raffi and Seven of Nine?

Star Trek: Picard concludes next season on Parmount+.

Star Trek: Picard fans have been vocal about wanting a spinoff series with Raffi (Michelle Hurd) and Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) once the series concludes next year. Even Jonathan Del Arco got on board with the idea and included Orla Brady in his pitch. Raffi and Seven of Nine have evolved over the past two seasons, and fans could see the pair headlining a show of their own.

One fan decided to go all in and asked fans to make the suggestion to Paramount+ if they wanted such a series. Executive producer Terry Matalas’ tweeted response (which has since been deleted), gave a thumbs-up to the idea but with a caveat. Matalas wrote “Assuming they survive season three.” (You can see the deleted tweet here which Bleeding Cool discovered.)

Will Raffi or Seven of Nine die in season three of Star Trek: Picard?

The question, brought on by Matalas’ tweet, has caused some concern among fans, and they haven’t been afraid to voice it.

With most of the original cast of Picard already missing from season three, Raffi and Seven of Nine remain the only two still standing, presumably so the series can focus on the return of The Next Generation characters. But fans are invested in the two characters who have become a team of their own. And seeing The Next Generation characters won’t take away the sting of losing either Raffi or Seven.

Since Matalas has deleted the tweet, it’s possible he was only teasing then decided it was better not to leave such a tweet active as viewers were getting rather animated. Just recently, Michelle Hurd and Jeri Ryan, both on Twitter Spaces, shared that the two characters had action-packed, emotional and incredibly exciting stories to explore. For now, that’s all we can look forward to while hoping that Matalas wasn’t being serious about the pair’s future.
