The Gorn’s look in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds finally made them terrifying to look at.

The Gorn have been the centerpiece of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds since the show premiered. They’ve been integral to several episodes and backstories, namely in the fourth episode “Memento Mori” and with the character La’an Noonien Singh.

The series is trying to balance the lore established before it with the original series, which chronologically comes after Strange New Worlds, while also giving fans some more backstory and lore with certain characters and aliens. That’s something they’re doing with the Gorn.

While not everyone is on board with the expanded lore, the latest episode, “All Those Who Wander”, brought the Gorn into the series in a big way. Not only did the crew of the Enterprise see just how violent and destructive it was, but they also still found a work-around by bringing in a baby version, and not a full-grown one. thus helping keep the timeline intact; mostly.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds have made the Gorn not just deadly but terrifying

The series has already done a good job bringing the Gorn as a species back in a big way and making them far more deadly than ever before. The way they hunt and attack is truly impressive and had their first appearance in “Memento Mori” been it, that would’ve been enough.

It wasn’t though, and the introduction of the baby Gorn allowed fans to see what the alien race could look like with a full-blown big budget. They were seen in the original series and Enterprise but neither version looked great, but this one sure did.

While some fans won’t like that Strange New Worlds revealed the Gorn to someone for the first time that wasn’t James T. Kirk, it was still a great episode and really showed people why they should truly be feared.
