The cast of Star Trek: Voyager wants to return to the franchise.

Since it was announced that Patrick Stewart and Jeri Ryan would be reprising their respective roles of Jean-Luc Picard and Seven of Nine from Star Trek’s The Next Generation and Voyager for the first season of Picard, fans have wondered who else would pop up. In Picard’s first season, we got Brent Spiner as Data, Jonathan Frakes as William Riker, and Marina Sirtis as Deanna Troi. Season two only brought in more names, like John de Lancie as Q, Wil Wheaton as Wesley Crusher, and Whoopi Goldberg as Guinan. The Next Generation is well represented but now it appears as though the cast of Voyager wants their shot.

Ryan isn’t the only Voyager star who’s returned to the franchise, as Kate Mulgrew and Robert Beltran have both returned to the franchise with Prodigy, with Mulgrew reprising her role as Kathryn Janeway and Beltran in his return to Chakotay. Even Robert Duncan McNeil, who played Tom Paris on Voyager, returned but he did so in a cameo role on Lower Decks.

Yet, according to Mulgrew, those three names aren’t the only ones who want a return. In an interview with Den of Geek, Mulgrew revealed that everyone wants another go around;

"We’re always talking. I mean my great friends are Robert Picardo and John de Lancie. We’re always touching down and crossing paths. And when we do talk about Star Trek, all of us are just so amazed that it constantly is reinventing itself. I think that fact only speaks to its sort of undying virtues. I know Jeri [Ryan] loves doing Picard. And I know that all of us—all of us—would love to continue and when the opportunity presents itself, we’ll always do more Star Trek."

Fans would love more Voyager in this era of Star Trek

Star Trek: Voyager had an unfair reputation for a long-time, and fans were ultra-critical of the franchise. It was one of the better-done series in franchise history and was big enough to carry an entire television station for a while.

Yet, people seemed to forget that notion. That’s why seeing all of the main cast members return at least one more time is an idea that many fans are getting behind. There’s a push for this cast to get their just due for being the franchise icons that they are.

To let the cast get one more go around so that they could get the proper respect for their contributions I think would be a fitting send-off.
